Exhibition on Huamán Poma de Ayala was showcased in Singapore

On March 17, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore in collaboration with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - NAFA, inaugurated “Camina el Autor”, an exhibition on the work of the Peruvian chronicler Huamán Poma de Ayala. The exhibition was showcased in the gallery “Lim Hak Tai” of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. This was a way to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations between Peru and Singapore. In this edition, the Peruvian Michelin starred chef Virgilio Martinez gives an insight of Peru´s culinary richness and tradition.

Exhibition - Camina el Autor

Events

NAFA and the Embassy of Peru in Singapore present the extraordinary work of Peruvian chronicler Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala (1534-1615) that explores the history of the indigenous people of Peru, Andean civilisation and the Spanish conquest seen through the eyes of an illustrator and historian. This touring exhibition comprises of 32 panels of images with accompanying texts reproduced from the original manuscript that was completed in 1615. Guaman Poma de Ayala himself wrote the text and drew the 398 illustrations by hand. These drawings are from his chronicle, The New Chronicle and Good Government, which represents an ambitious account of the whole Pre-Hispanic Andean history, the emergence of the Inca Empire and the impact of the Spanish conquest of Peru since 1532. The illustrations of this manuscripts constitute a big component of this masterpiece, which depicts the harsh conditions of living under the Spanish rule. This work is also known as one of the most distinctive and historically reliable sources of early Peruvian history and culture.

The event will feature the participation of Peruvian chef Jaime Arbulú (winner of the “Chef Sur” award) and Peruvian musician Manuel Granados (traditional Andean flute). Registro único de peruanos afectados por medidas COVID-19

El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores del Perú ha implementado un (nuevo) registro único global para todos los ciudadanos peruanos que se han visto afectados por las medidas del Gobierno peruano frente a la crisis del virus COVID-19.Al respecto, mucho agradeceremos que se registre en el siguiente link: https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLSckAHlmOlPgW2H4G…/viewform… Deberán empadronarse aquellos ciudadanos peruanos que reúnan las siguientes condiciones:• Mantener residencia habitual en el Perú.• Encontrarse de visita por un corto plazo en territorio extranjero• Se ha visto retenido en territorio extranjero como consecuencia de la prohibición del Gobierno peruano para la llegada de vuelos de otros continentes.• La fecha de su vuelo de regreso es el lunes 16 de marzo de 2020 o posterior, sin que sobrepase los 30 días.• Contar con el boleto de regreso el cual debe haber sido comprado antes del lunes 16. *SI USTED YA SE REGISTRÓ EN UN LISTADO PREVIO, LE AGRADECEREMOS QUE RELLENE EL PRESENTE FORMULARIO.
