• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru awards a Peruvian citizen in Singapore for outstanding social work in Peru

    On December 15, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore delivered a diploma to Ms. Rafaella Zanatti Trovarelli, in recognition of the implementation of humanitarian assistance activities in favor of low-income Peruvians in Cusco. Ms. Zanatti founded the “Global Smiles” club in her secondary school. The goal of this organization is to help poor children in different countries. This year, the club raised funds to make scarves for the children of the “Sol y Luna Intercultural College” in Urubamba, Cusco. Ms. Zanatti traveled to Peru in June to serve as an assistant teacher of the first grade in the aforementioned school. On such a trip she delivered 198 scarves to the students of the school. During the trip, Miss Zanatti also managed to obtain financial resources for the purchase of sheets and pillows for cancer treatment unit of the Antonio Lorena Hospital, in Cusco. This award was issued as part of the celebration of the Day of Peruvians Residing Abroad "(October 18), occasion in which a recognition is made to ten (10) nationals who have stood out for carrying out activities that promote the integration and strengthening of Peruvian communities abroad with their country of origin, as well as assistance, legal and humanitarian assistance actions in favor of low-income Peruvians.

  • Pacific Alliance countries organized in Singapore an event for the promotion of Fintech businesses

    On November 11, the Embassies and Trade Promotion Agencies of the member countries of the Pacific Alliance organized a Fintech business promotion event in Singapore, within the framework of the Singapore Fintech Festival 2019 and the week of innovation and technology in Singapore (SWITCH). Fintech is a financial industry that applies new technologies to financial and investment activities. The event was attended by the Heads of Mission of the PA member countries who presented the panorama of the FinTech industry in their respective countries. Likewise, there was the participation of companies of the said category that operate in each of the members of the PA. In the case of Peru, the presentation was given by Mr. Franco Pastor, Co-Founder of "Impulsus" and "Blazar Labs". The event had the support of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. The Singapore Fintech Festival 2019 and SWITCH 2019 took place in this City-State from November 11 to 13 and had more than 400 speakers, 900 exhibitors, 41 international pavilions and about 60 thousand participants from 130 countries. This fair is the world’s biggest annual fintech gathering.

    On 18 October, the Ambassador of Peru, Mr.Carlos Vasquez participated in the Farewell Assembly 2019 of the Raffles Institution, one of the most prestigious schools in Singapore. On this occasion, Ambassador Vasquez gave Mr. Xi Wenhan the award “Embassy of the Republic of Peru - Varayoc”.
