• PERUVIAN CHEF OPENS RESTAURANT AT JEWEL CHANGI AIRPORT

    On April 11, the Jewel Changi Airport shopping center was opened for preview visits, before is official inauguration on April 17. Said commercial complex is an extension of the Changi International Airport and has meant an investment of 1.7 billion dollars. The development of Jewel Changi Airport is part of the efforts that this City-State is adapting to ensure its leadership position as an air hub. It is noteworthy that among the more than 280 stores and restaurants that houses the site, is the Latin American restaurant Tonito Latin American Kitchen, the third venture in Singapore of the Peruvian Chef Daniel Chavez. The Ambassador of Peru in Singapore had the opportunity to attend the inaugural event of the aforementioned restaurant, which was also attended by Heads of Mission and officials from various Latin American representations in Singapore.   • "INCA GARCILASO DE LA VEGA: THE FIRST PERUVIAN MESTIZO" PHOTO EXHIBITION

    The exhibition will run from 17 to 22 April 2019 (11 am - 6pm) @The Substation - 45 Armenian Street, Singapore 179936. This exhibition consists of eight sets of photos that describe the work of the "Inca Garcilaso de la Vega", writer and historian born in Peru during the second half of the Sixteenth Century. Due to his Inca and Hispanic ancestry, it is said that the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega was the first cultural "mestizo" in America.

    On 7 March, the Ambassador of Peru in Singapore, Mr. Carlos Vasquez, hold a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Singapore, Mr. Heng Swee Keat. During the meeting, both parties exchange their points of view regarding the strong ties between Peru and Singapore, not only at a bilateral level but also at a multilateral one. Ambassador Vasquez and Minister Heng expressed their willingness in continuing deepening the exchange of tourists, trade, and investments between both countries.

    On 12 March, the Ambassador of Peru in Singapore, Mr. Carlos Vasquez, hold a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore, Mrs. Grace Fu Hai Yien. Ambassador Vasquez and Minister Fu talked about the common links between the Peruvian and the Singaporean culture, the experience of both countries as members of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and the efforts that are being made by the Embassy of Peru in Singapore to familiarize the Singaporean society with the Peruvian culture.
