• Exhibition on the life and work of Inca Garcilaso de la Vega at Yale-NUS College

    On February 18, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore inaugurated the photo exhibition "The Inca Garcilaso de la Vega: the first Peruvian mestizo" in the facilities of the Yale-NUS College University Library in Singapore. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ronald Mine (Dean of Educational Resources and Technology) and Bethany Wilkes (College Librarian), authorities of Yale-NUS College, students, and faculty of the aforementioned house of studies, officials of this Mission and members of the Peruvian community. During the event, a donation was made of the work "The Royal Commentaries of the Incas" by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega to the Yale-NUS College Library. This work has been included in the university's curriculum for students of literature. The photo exhibition was open to Yale-NUS students and the general public until February 28.





  • SCREENING OF THE FILM "THE MILK OF SORROW" AT THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE (NUS)

    On January 29, the Embassy of Peru screened the film "The Mik of Sorrow" in the auditorium of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the National University of Singapore (NUS). The aforementioned activity was co-organized with the Spanish Department of the Language Institute of said university. The event was attended by around 100 people, including NUS Spanish students, the staff of teachers, members of the Peruvian community. Before the screening, the Embassy organized a small reception, in which Peruvian typical costumes were showcased. The Embassy chef, Marlon Chanjan shared with the attendees some deserts made from quinoa. The Peruvian artist Pacha Chalwanka offered a concert in which the public could appreciate the use of Andean instruments. At the end of the film, the attendants had the opportunity to formulate questions to the Ambassador of Peru about the film and the Peruvian society and history.





  • PERUVIAN NIGHT IN CLARQUE QUAY

    On January 28, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore along with Señor Tacorestaurant organized a cultural evening which served to integrate Peruvian nationals residing in Singapore and to promote the Peruvian culture among the local community. The Embassy of Peru collaborated on the decoration for the event, where promotional videos of our country were also shown. The Embassy of Peru also supported the participation of the Peruvian musician Pacha-Chalwankawho delighted the audience with songs from Peruvian folklore, accompanied by the restaurant group of musicians. An Afro-Peruvian dance contest took place at the end of the activity. The best couples received books of Peruvian gastronomy. During this activity, the restaurant included Causa a la Limeña and chilcano cocktails in its menu.





  • Embassy of Peru organizes gastronomic and cultural promotion activity in Singaporean school

    On January 23, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore organized a cultural and gastronomic promotion activity held at the international school "Dulwich College" (Singapore). The attending public consisted of high school Spanish language students of the and their teachers. The activity allowed the public to become familiar with Peru and its culture as well as taste typical snacks of Peruvian cuisine. On the other hand, the Peruvian musician Wilmer Montoya León ("Pacha Chalwanka"), made a presentation in which he emphasized to the students the use of the Andean instruments that are used during his performance.
