    CULTURAL AND GASTRONOMIC PROMOTION EVENT "TAMAN JURONG" COMMUNITY CENTER On January 26, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore organized a cultural and gastronomic event at the "Taman Jurong" Community Center. Doctor Tan Wu Meng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Trade, participated as a special guest in this activity. The Ambassador of Peru made a presentation to the local community, in which he explained the diversity and richness of Peruvian culture. Attendees were able to taste typical Peruvian cuisine snacks after a demo class held by the Embassy Chef Marlon Chanjan and a brief concert by the Peruvian musician Pacha-Chalwanka.

    Embassy of Peru organizes gastronomic and cultural promotion activity in Singaporean school On January 23, the Embassy of Peru in Singapore organized a cultural and gastronomic promotion activity held at the international school "Dulwich College" (Singapore). The attending public consisted of high school Spanish language students of the and their teachers. The activity allowed the public to become familiar with Peru and its culture as well as taste typical snacks of Peruvian cuisine. On the other hand, the Peruvian musician Wilmer Montoya León ("Pacha Chalwanka"), made a presentation in which he emphasized to the students the use of the Andean instruments that are used during his performance.

  • OPENING OF PERUVIAN-NIKKEI FOOD FESTIVAL IN SINGAPORE

    On 21 January, was opened the "NAMI x Osaka Cocina Nikkei" food festival at the NAMI Restaurant and Bar (Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore). The event will last until 27 January. The chefs Juan Urrutia and Roger Quispe from the Peruvian restaurant Osaka are in charge of delivering an amazing seven dish course set menu of Nikkei food along with Peruvian ingredients and technique to the local palates. The event is animated by the Peruvian Andean Musician, Pacha-Chalwanka, and decorated with Peruvian handicrafts and textiles. During the opening night, the Embassy of Peru had among its guests of honor to the Ambassador of Japan in Singapore, Mr. Jun Yamazaki; the new Executive Director of APEC, Mrs. Rebecca Santa Maria; the Director of America of the local Chancellery, Mrs. Jolene Tan; the itinerant Ambassador from Singapore to Peru, Mr. Giam Chin Toon; the Ambassador of Singapore to UNESCO, Mr. Andrew Toh; the General Manager of the Hotel Shangri La, Mr. Bipan Kapur and the General Manager of the Tower Club, Mr. Peter Schori.
